I think the Data Privacy Act of 2012 does not violate our freedom of speech and freedom of expression because it has been legislated and studied by the law makers that will provide the security of information of every individual and will not endanger the security of information to all the citizens of the Philippines.

Among the rights of a Data Subject, which do you consider as the two (2) most important rights? Why? Elaborate your answer.

1.Purposes for which they are being or are to be processed.

It is important to know the purpose of which are being to be processed because it will assure the data subject that their information will be used in accordance to the existing law and would not be used in all unlawful act.

2. The existence of their rights, i.e., to access, correction, as well as the right to lodge a complaint before the Commission.

The importance of this Right of Data Subject is that it allows the Data Subject to have a request to be able to access his/her personal information and the can make a correction and can file a complaint against the commission if ever there are laws violated.

In Data Privacy Act of 2012, when do you consider a person as a Data Subject? Provide an example situation.

According to www.eugdprcompliant.com, a data subject is any person whose personal data is being collected, held or processed. The example of the Data Subject is when a person is applying for a credit card membership and therefore the bank is requesting the client to file a certain application paper that would identify the client or anything that has to do with his/her personal data to be used as a reference by an institution in order for them to know the client well.
